It is my pleasure to welcome you to Valle Vista Elementary School. With the 2010-2011 school year behind us, we look forward to an even better 2011-2012 school year. I am very proud to be part of the Viking Team. On behalf of the Valle Vista Staff, we are excited to begin this year. We have been
working hard to ensure that everything is ready for our students to have a great start to their school year.
I always look forward to the excitement of coming back to school with the variety of activities and events to kick off the school year. We hope you will find time to visit our school, visit your child’s class and participate in the activities whenever possible.
I am proud to be a part of this wonderful school community of achieving students, dedicated teachers, parents and community members. Here at Valle Vista we are based on a culture of universal student achievement. Students are active participants in a rich instructional environment in which they are engaged in challenging learning opportunities that promote lifelong learning. Valle Vista is a learning community in which students, staff and parents are committed to building partnerships for student
success. We believe learning is forever and we strive to instill the passion to learn.
Our goal this past school year 2010-2011 was to reach “827 in 2011” on the California State Test (CST). The staff was committed to seeing this happen through realization of our vision that at Valle Vista Elementary, we envision a clean, safe, and respectful environment with happy, enthusiastic children
who are supported both by involved families and a highly qualified and engaged staff, in an effort to achieve common educational goals. Valle Vista Staff believes it is the student’s, staff’s and community’s responsibility to ensure every student, with appropriate support, becomes a successful, lifelong learner. We believe all students have the right to a safe, orderly, supportive and positive school environment. Finally, we believe in the power of collaboration among and between grade levels.
We are a PeaceBuilders School. The students are learning that all conflicts can be resolved peacefully. They continue to praise people, give up put-downs, seek wise people, right wrongs, help others and notice and speak up about hurts they have caused. Many thanks go out to all of the parents who are helping to foster these peace building characteristics at home.
I invite you to be an active participant in your child’s learning voyage. Valle Vista is truly a great place to learn and grow!
Here’s wishing you the very best for a successful 2011-2012 school year.
