Accelerated Reader helps us get students excited about books! Accelerated Reader helps focus attention on careful reading of books, which improves students' critical-thinking skills and builds the intrinsic love of reading.
A.R. provides us with reliable, objective information. Two different types of assessment give us valuable data on student reading practice.
A.R. makes managing our classrooms easier. Teachers who use A.R. report higher attendance, fewer discipline problems, and improved attitudes toward school.
AR helps us keep each student challenged. Using A.R., we can continually match students to appropriate books within their zone of proximal development (ZPD). That means you can assure every student is challenged without being frustrated
• Ask your child's teacher about Accelerated Reader.
• Visit the school library and speak to Mrs. Anderson, our librarian.
• Talk to our Accelerated Reader Coordinator, Mrs. Harker.
